Surrounded By Water, an instrumental Post-Rock band from Minneapolis, was formed in 2016 by brothers Robert and Josh Landvik. In late-2017, the band would soon form into its full and current lineup, consisting of members: Robert and Josh Landvik on guitars, Cullen Berglove on bass, and Ben Thannum on drums. Together they attempt to capture emotion, and imagery by mashing clean, and distortion-laden guitars into cavernous-like soundscapes, along with the occasional field recording.

Releasing their self-produced debut album Relics in late 2017, and a Split EP Split Personalities recorded live at The Red Sea in Minneapolis with Fix The Glitch (Twin Cities Post-Grunge). After four years of writing, and recording Surrounded By Water stepped out of 2024 with their second full-length, self-produced effort S/T. Showcasing a broader, and a more fluid range to their sound. As well as a release that finally showcases the band as a whole. An hour, and ten minute run-time, it takes you on a journey through the eyes of 'the listener.' An album about personal growth, empowerment, reflection, and acceptance.
